In My 100th Year

Krishen Khanna has lived a rich life in every way possible. Such is the richness of his life that it has been a privilege that we have all shared. We have all been touched repeatedly by the softness of his heart and his larger-than-life laughter. He has and continues to play every role of his life with utmost dignity and sincerity.

Among the numerous beautiful moments, each of which deserves its own book, we remember with fondness a few memories. Many remember stories about his compassion and courage, from Himmat Shah’s recollections about how Krishen fought to stop him from being removed from Garhi Studio to his unending encouragement of all artists and never missing an opportunity to further their interests, even buying works himself to prove to them their worth.

There are a set of unique art watches - a collaboration with a Swiss watchmaker and Krishen that is documented in this book. When Krishen finally came to see these timepieces, he had tears of joy rolling down his cheeks. Instead of us showing our gratefulness for his participation in the many projects that he has done with us over the last two decades, he ended up showing gratitude towards us and everyone who assists with his projects. No matter how small the contribution, his appreciation is always abundant.
