Krishen Khanna at 101: The Real Progressive

On the fifth of July, 2025, Krishen turned one hundred. He spent the morning, as he has spent most mornings of the past seventy-five years, painting. This book documents the work of an artist still entirely at his easel, in his hundred- and-first year of life and his eighth decade of practice. The Real Progressive celebrates Krishen not only as the last living artist of the Progressive Artists Group still actively working, but as a true progressive in spirit, continuously evolving at his age, embracing new materials, processes, and forms of expression with the same curiosity, courage, and humanity that defined his remarkable artistic journey.
