FLORIDA CAMPUS

The new Florida campus in Largo is located directly across from the well-known, beautifully landscaped recreational Largo Central Park, which also is home to the Largo Cultural Arts Center, the City Theater, and the new Largo library, which is one of the best library facilities in Pinellas County. Largo Central Park has a great landscape and many other recreational amenities. There are also a number of nearby apartment houses where students wanting to live on their own can find accommodation. Students will have access to wireless internet throughout the campus. There will be computers available for internet use in the library, computer lab and many other common areas throughout the campus.

City Life
The main campus of SIU is located in Largo, which is the third largest city (80,000) in Pinellas County, Florida, located just south of Clearwater and to the north of St. Petersburg, part of the Tampa Bay Area, at the crossroads of the county. Our new location is in the Center of Largo and is only a short drive from the famous Gulf beaches: Belleair, Sandkey, and Clearwater Beach. There are many stores and supermarkets as well as numerous restaurants and fast food restaurants within walking distance. A shopping mall is within 1.5 miles (2,4 km) for shoppers to enjoy. The Colonial Bank and the new Hampton Inn Hotel are our direct neighbors. The Campus is on the new trolley route, close to Central Park, and also stops along East Bay, Main Street and Clearwater Largo Road.

Student Life
With a bus stop at our campus on East Bay, and bus lines which run from downtown Clearwater to downtown St. Petersburg and Tampa, students can reach destinations within the Tampa Bay area. It also provides students with easy connections to the airports, Tampa International Airport (TBA) and St Petersburg International/Clearwater Airport (PIE).

English as a Foreign Language classes are available for those wishing to improve their English language skills prior to or during study at SIU. Groups or individuals who wish to increase their English language proficiency for business or other professional or personal reasons will also benefit from these courses.
