The Applied Business Computing degree offers you
the opportunity to greatly increase your job
prospects in the field of computing across a wide
spectrum of career areas. It is designed to allow
the student a broader scope of computer based
disciplines. There is a huge demand for qualified
computing personnel in the commercial and
administrative fields. Having obtained your
Applied Business Computing degree enables you to
enter such careers at a much improved initial
starting point and can help you progress quickly.
In particular, the project module will enhance
your chances of gaining successful employment. In
order to fulfil the objectives of the project
module, you will be required to make contact with
industry. This allows you to engage with real
world problems and helps you prepare for a
fruitful career.
The course is split into 6 semesters of 4 months
each, running consecutively, so the course is
finished in just 2 calendar years compared to the
3 years in most universities, thus saving one
year in time and living expenses in London.
After the successful completion of Semesters 1 &
2 , students will be awarded "STM Diploma in IT &
E-Commerce".
After the successful completion of Semesters 3 &
4 , students will be awarded "STM Advanced
Diploma in IT & E-Commerce" and are eligible to
proceed onto the final phase (semesters 5 & 6) of
the University of Sunderland BSc (Hons) - Applied
Business Computing programme.
