Undergraduate Programs :

BA - International Relations and Diplomacy

SIU's international relations program equips students with the expertise they need to pursue careers in government, with international organizations, in law, business or journalism, or to move on to graduate study in political science and international relations. Political and economic problems today almost invariably transcend national boundaries which means the international agenda encompasses scientific, technological, cultural and humanitarian concerns, as well as the more traditional area of diplomatic activity. Therefore at SIU students initially pursue a broad course of study in the liberal arts, to give them a thorough grounding in history, economics, political science and international relations.

In their final two years of study, they go on to apply their acquired analytical skills to key areas of current international concern. Case studies, negotiation simulations, guest lecturers and on-site visits introduce real world content whenever possible in upper-level courses. This Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy program is offered in Florida, London, Paris, Heidelberg and Madrid.
