In an era of increasing competition and increasingly demanding customers, the task of gaining and retaining customers is a central business activity. The marketing function is concerned with identifying, anticipating and meeting customer needs and requirements.

This programme has been designed and updated in response to the demand for marketing professionals who are well qualified and trained. Contemporary marketeers are expected to have a high level of commercial understanding and skill that they can successfully apply to different market situations and operating environments. The Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) is the leading body for the marketing profession and the marketing programme at Portobello College grants graduate membership with the MII on successful completion of the course.

Successful learning on the marketing programme will result in the student’s awareness of their intellectual and personal development. Students will be encouraged to reflect on what, why and how they are learning and will understand their own strengths, weaknesses, values and aims.
