The MSc in International Business aims to enable
students to obtain transferable skills and
knowledge for further study and career
development within the area of international
business.
How is the programme organised?
The MSC in International Business is a one year
full-time academic course, divided sequentially
into two parts.
Part I is a wholly taught component yielding 120
credits. In Part I students take a total of 8
modules over 2 semesters. 15 credits are awarded
per module
Part II, yielding 60 credits, is the supervised
dissertation in which candidates exhibit in-depth
knowledge in an area of specialisation.
Students need 180 credits to qualify for the
award MSc in International Business.
Under the scheme of study, candidates who
complete Part I and accumulate 120 credits, but
do not complete Part II, can exit with a
Postgraduate Diploma in International Business.
A Postgraduate Certificate in International
Business is also available to students who pass
60 credits or more in Part I.
Lectures and Tutorials
Classes run over two
semesters from the beginning of October until May
with breaks at Christmas and Easter. Assessment
occurs at the end of each semester. Providing
they have completed the taught element of the
programme, students must then complete a
supervised dissertation during the period June –
October in order to obtain the MSc qualification
