1. How is the course conducted?
The
programs are conducted on a Distance Learning basis and
each student is assigned a coordinator who is based at
a center nearest to the student’s residence for
completing their tasks and for providing assistance to
the students for their queries as well as general
academic support during the time the students are
completing their assignments. One coordinator is
normally assigned a group of 20 students.
The
students are required to complete assignments that are
set for each of the six courses. These are based to
test the overall understanding of each subject in the
curriculum. The assignments cover all essential parts
of each of the courses and help them convey their own
point of view, debate on aspects that may have more
than a single perspective, discuss basic case studies
and analyze the core essence of management studies.
Even
though there are no regular classes and the students
mainly undertake self-study, students do refer to their
coordinator for help in solving their queries, which
are usually prevalent especially with those students
with that have no Management base in the pervious
academic background.
After the
completion of the assignments the students have to
undergo a verbal examination to check to their actual
level of understanding of the said subject. All six
subjects are discussed with the students and the
students need to clear this examination on order to
complete the course.
The
students have to submit two copies of the written
assignments and one copy of all successful students is
submitted to the University where they further go on to
study. (This is done only upon request by the
respective academic institution that the student is
going to register at, and is not mandatory)
The
written assignments consist of 72% of the total marks
for the course and the Verbal Examination constitutes
28% in the overall evaluation.
