1. CERTIFICATE IN HOTEL AND CATERING SUPERVISION

The aim of the course is to provide suitably qualified staff in the area of supervision. The emphasis is therefore placed on the appreciation and evaluation of the work of skilled staff and their control and not on the learning of basic skills.

Duration of Course  : One academic term; September to December  or January to June. Examinations. are held at the end of each term.
Entry requirements :
  • 5 GCSEs/GCE 'O' levels for students 17 to 20 years of age or
  • 3 GCSEs/GCE 'O' levels for students 21 to 25 years of age, inclusive or
  • Evidence of three year's relevant experience for students 26 years or age or over
Professional/Examining Body: The Institute of Commercial Management (ICM).  Examinations: June and December.
Exemptions : On a subject-for-subject basis exemptions may be awarded at the discretion of the ICM provided applicants possess relevant qualifications at an appropriate level,

2. DIPLOMA IN HOTEL AND CATERING MANAGEMENT

The course is ideally suited for those candidates envisaging a managerial career in hotels and/or catering establishments. The Diploma course reflects this aim by treating management decision-making as a major aspect of study.

Duration of Course  : One academic term; September to December  or January to June. Examinations are held at the end of each term.
Entry requirements :
The Certificate in Hotel and Catering Supervision of the ICM or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the ICM.

3. ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

The purpose of LCC's full time Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for senior management in the hospitality service whilst also preparing them for higher Post Graduate Hospitality studies. This makes the course particularly appealing to students who may nave already specialised in travel and tourism, hole! and catering, leisure and recreation or an area of business and who now wish to broaden their understanding of all areas of senior management as applied to the field of hospitality.

Duration of the Course: One academic year, September to June or January to December (with a long summer break) 
Entry Requirements:
  • Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management or Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management or Higher National Diploma (BTEC) in an appropriate discipline or

  • Degrees in relevant disciplines of approved universities or Candidates 27 years of age or over with at least 4 years' relevant experience Examinations are held at the end of each term

Professional/Examining Body: LCC sets the examinations for external moderation.

This one year programme of study has been developed by London City College, designed to address the Information Technology needs of students, practitioners and companies, in the new Millennium.

The course has been validated by the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM). Practicing professionals in the computer and technology industry will be used as the courses instructors and all sessions will be held in our modern computer suite at Royal Waterloo House.

The courses were designed in such a way so they could complement each other and provide students with a wide appreciation of technologies involved.

1. DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

Students will be guided from understanding of important hardware and software trends to practical management of modern operational system; from appreciation of Internet and WWW to practical e-commerce and e-business sessions; from explanation of basics of data storage and management techniques to practical database design; from simple HTML exercises to practical implementation and management of Web Sites.

Duration of Course  : One academic term; September to December  or January to June.  Examinations are held at the end of each term.
Entry Requirements: Open Access. No formal qualifications required to join this practical programme of study.

1. ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN  IT  FOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
Students will learn fundamentals of image editing, animations, principles of customisation of Java applets, Java Script and DHTML. Lectures are oriented to MS Office applications, each of them and all of them together providing solutions to most managerial problems,
