Postgraduate Programmes
MA in Entrepreneurial
Management
The
programme recognises the existence of and
necessity for entrepreneurial capabilities in all
organisations—public, private and social. The
focus is on Entrepreneurial Management as a
phenomenon that generates economic renewal through
new products and services—from start-up businesses
through to international corporations attempting
to adapt their internal capabilities more quickly
within a more competitive and dynamic environment.
The programme exposes the student to the
contemporary and growing sources of
entrepreneurial knowledge and research. The strong
base of theoretical and conceptual frameworks is
built on by application and interface with
entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial businesses
during the learning process through seminars,
field and research based activities.
The Dissertation provides another major
opportunity to extend the interest of the
individual student by focusing on one of the many
exciting avenues of entrepreneurial development.
The programmes are led by staff who have both
academic and practical experience of
entrepreneurship ensuring the vital link between
theory and practice. They also have a strong
international aspect in terms of background and
experience ensuring that the international
dimension, which is central to the EBSL philosophy
and community, becomes an integral part of the
learning activities.
This is reinforced by a core module called
"Business in its Linguistic and Cultural
Environment"; here students examine the
relationship between culture and economic activity
in a number of societies.
The aim is to develop a manager who understands
the international environment, who recognises the
context of change within which all organisations
have to operate, and who can operate comfortably
in a managerial capacity in a range of
organisational contexts.
The MA in Entrepreneurial Management has seven
core modules, the Dissertation, and one elective.
