Post Graduate Programs:

Master in Business Administration (MBA)
Awarded by University of Sunderland

 This internationally recognised MBA programme will significantly enhance a student’s ability to function as a senior manager within a wide range of commercial and service organisations.

The course consists of three stages.

Stage 1.

Three core units:

  • Advanced Professional Development.

  • Managing Change in Organisations.

  • Management Research - Project and Presentation.

Plus six specialist units:

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation.

  • Managing Financial Principles and Techniques.

  • Human Resources Planning and Development.

  • Management in the Wider Environment.

  • Developing a Communication Strategy.

  • Strategic Marketing Management

Note: On completion of these nine subjects students will be awarded with the Edexcel Postgraduate Advanced Professional Diploma in Management Studies.

Stage 2

In order to qualify for the MBA award students will need to complete a further four taught subjects (Stage 2) and a dissertation (Stage 3).

  • Global corporate strategy

  • International business environment

  • Modelling techniques for business and management

  • Applied research methods for business and management.

Stage 3

  • Dissertation- You will be required to undertake a research investigation into a contemporary management issue utilising primary and secondary investigation, techniques and data sources. The dissertation will be of 15,000 - 20,000 words in length.


Upon completion of stages1, students will be awarded with:

  • A Postgraduate Advanced Professional Diploma in Management Studies (Edexcel).

  • And upon completion of stage 2 and 3; students will be awarded with:

  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) – University of Sunderland

Entry requirements

Applicants will be admitted to the course on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor degree with good grades and two years work experience.

  • Proficiency in English (minimum IELTS 6.0).

  • Mature students (23 years plus) without the normal academic qualifications but with significant work experience will also be considered.
